Answers for the complete workflow—from loading two sources through resolving, exporting, and validating the combined result.
Open the workspace and use Choose file in each source panel, drag two files onto the upload area, or choose Paste text to create an editable source. MergeGlass is intended for text-based files.
MergeGlass does not assume a direction. Decide what A and B represent, use clear filenames, and make each resolution from the surrounding context.
It places the Source A changed block followed by the Source B block in the combined result. Review punctuation, separators, and duplicated declarations afterward.
Use it when both versions descend from the same known base. The base helps distinguish one-sided edits from overlapping edits that require a decision.
Semantic mode parses and normalizes structured data before comparison. Its output is a normalized representation. Switch to Text mode when exact formatting, comments, or key order must be preserved.
They remove those distinctions from comparison. They can reduce noise, but may also hide meaningful changes. Use them only when the target format treats the ignored difference as irrelevant.
Use Copy or Download for the combined result. Unified patch export creates a standard textual diff suitable for review or compatible patch workflows.
No. Selected files and pasted source content are processed in the browser. They are not sent to MergeGlass or included in analytics events.
After the application and its assets have been cached, supported browsers can install or reopen the tool without a network connection. Clear browser site data to remove the cached app.
Keep the originals, export under a new name, and validate the candidate using the consuming application's parser, formatter, compiler, tests, or schema. MergeGlass cannot determine semantic correctness.
